MICROCOMPUTER AND DATA PROCESSING APPARATUS

PURPOSE: To provide a microcomputer which is capable of utilizing a delete and write processing program in a boot mat from an arbitrary execution state of a user program without needing a reset start. CONSTITUTION: After the reset start, a processing program such as a delete and write processing program of a nonvolatile memory 13 is stored in a boot mat (Tmat) on a utilizable nonvolatile memory by means of specification of a boot mode. Furthermore, there is stored a transfer control program of the processing program. An on-chip CPU 2 is transferred from an execution state of an arbitrary user program to an execution state of the control program in the boot mat by using the setting of specified control information (SCO=1) in a predetermined register (FCCS) as a trigger. The processing program is transferred to an on-chip RAM, and the CPU is returned to the execution state of the arbitrary program again. In this processing, a sequence such as the reset start is not needed.
