The stringed musical instrument (10) has a number of vibrating strings (12) , a harmony table (14) and push buttons (16). The fixed string drive mechanism is a plate with hold and release mechanisms putting pressure on the strings when a button is pressed, and driving and annulling the pressure allowing the string to vibrate freely and preventing the button force from being applied.
