PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a revolving construction machine which facilitates coating and repairing work thereof at a very low cost, by allowing the operator to tread only a step portion without treading side covers when he rides in a driving seat, whereby only re-coating of the step portion is required even if coat of the step portion peels off. SOLUTION: The revolving construction machine consists of a lower traveling body 2 and an upper revolving body 3 rotatably mounted on the same. The upper revolving body 3 is formed of a working device 4, an engine mounted on a revolving frame, an outer cover 10 arranged on the revolving frame and covering component parts on the upper revolving body 3 inclusive of the engine, the driving seat 5 arranged on a floor plate at a front portion of the outer cover 10, and the side covers 9 covering both right and left surfaces of the revolving frame. According to the revolving construction machine, the step portion 14 which covers each side cover 9 located in the vicinity of a platform of the driving seat 5, from an upper surface 12 to a side surface 11 of the side cover 9 via a corner portion between the surfaces, is detachably attached to the side cover 9.
