PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing method for a silver halide photographic sensitive material free of trouble of a sensor in an image setter, ensuring a small change of photographic performance even when the amount of a developing solution replenished is small and less liable to cause uneven development. SOLUTION: In the silver halide photographic sensitive material having at least one silver halide emulsion layer containing at least one photosensitive silver halide emulsion on the base, the silver halide emulsion layer or another hydrophilic colloidal layer contains a substantially non-photosensitive silver halide emulsion, the coating weight of the non-photosensitive silver halide is 10-200 mg/m<2> (expressed in terms of silver) and the transmittance of the sensitive material in the range of 900-950 nm has been lowered by >=4% on the average by incorporating the non-photosensitive silver halide emulsion. In the processing method, the silver halide photographic sensitive material is developed while replenishing <=250 ml/m<2> developing solution of pH 9.0-11.0 containing a compound of formula (I).
