PURGING AGENT AND PURGING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a purging agent for purging the residue of the resin, which remains in a die after an ethylene/unsaturated carboxylic acid copolymer or the metal neutralized matter thereof is previously molded when the molding of an ethylene/unsaturated carboxylic acid copolymer or the metal neutralized matter and an olefinic resin is performed by using the same molding apparatus in common, for a short time by enhancing cleaning effect even at a temperature of <250 deg.C without exerting any adverse effect on the molding of the olefinic resin performed subsequently, and a purging method. SOLUTION: The purging agent is prepared by compounding an alkali metal hydrogencarbonate with the ethylene/unsaturated carboxylic acid ester copolymer. A compound prepared by further compounding an inorganic filler and/or a lubricant with the purging agent is also excellent in purging effect. In the purging method, the purging agent is supplied to an extrusion molding machine before the molding of the polyolefinic resin and extruding the resin compounded with the purging agent in a molten state under heating to purge the ethylene/ unsaturated carboxylic acid copolymer or the metal neutralized matter thereof.
