PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a real image type variable power finder capable of securing an excellent finder function while keeping a high variable power function and reducing parallax, especially, caused by the backlash of a lens due to variable power. SOLUTION: This real image type variable power finder is constituted of objective optical systems 1 to 4 having positive refractive power, an erect optical system 6 and an eyepiece optical system 7 having positive refractive power. The objective optical system is provided with a 1st lens group 1 having positive refractive power, a 2nd lens group 2 having negative refractive power, a 3rd lens group 3 having positive refractive power, and a 4th lens group 4 having negative refractive power in order from an object side, and the focal distance of the objective optical system is changed by moving only the lens groups having the negative refractive power along an optical axis.
