PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming an image, by which the inorganic matter-sintered image can be formed on the surface of a building material such as an artistic tile or a fictile material such as a ceramic material easily at a low cost without application and which contributes to the enhancement of workability, productivity, safety and general applicability. SOLUTION: This image forming method comprises a step to form the inorganic pigment image on the surface of an image-formable image receiving layer of an image receiving body formed on the surface of a support, a step to transfer a cover coat layer of a transfer body onto the inorganic pigment image-formed image receiving layer by fringing the surface of the image receiving layer into contact with the surface of the cover coat layer and heating the contacted surfaces, a step to arrange the inorganic pigment image on the surface of the fictile material before or after the support is peeled off from the image receiving body and a step to heat/sinter at least the inorganic pigment image-arranged side of the fictile material. |
