IMAGE DIAGNOSIS SUPPORT METHOD AND SYSTEM THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image diagnosis support method making a candidate point of an abnormal shadow proper to improve efficiency of diagnosis support. SOLUTION: This method has a step 10 for extracting a lung field area from a tomographic image; a step 11 for extracting a candidate of the abnormal shadow from the lung field area; a step 12 for extracting a blood vessel shadow in the lung field area; a step 13 for deleting the blood vessel shadow coincident with the area of the candidate of the abnormal shadow when the area of the blood vessel shadow extracted at the step 12 coincides with the area of the candidate of the abnormal shadow; a step 14 for extracting a candidate of the abnormal shadow in the area continuing the area of the blood vessel shadow deleted at the step 13; and a step 17 for displaying the candidate of the abnormal shadow extracted at the step 14 and the candidate of the abnormal shadow not deleted at the step 13 after feature quantity analysis at a step 15 and a decision deletion process at a step 16.
