NOVEL ENDOCHITINASE GENE FROM SERRATIA LIQUEFACIENS GM1403 STRAIN

PURPOSE: Provided is the nucleotide sequence of a novel endochitinase gene derived from a Serratia liquefaciens GM1403 strain. Also, provided is the amino acid sequence translated therefrom. The novel endochitinase is used for the manufacture of chitin oligosaccharide. CONSTITUTION: The novel endochitinase gene is isolated from a Serratia liquefaciens GM1403 strain by genetic recombination. its nucleotide sequence and amino acid sequence are represented by SEQ ID:1 and SEQ ID NO:2. An endochitinase is manufactured by culturing a transformant transformed with an expression vector including the endochitinase gene.
