PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the destruction of upper and lower magnetic heads caused by direct collision between the upper and lower magnetic heads present in an information recording/reproducing device 1 by a large force in a standby state, in a portable computer incorporating an information recording/reproducing device 1, which receives many shocks from falling/colliding because it is carried. SOLUTION: In a standby state where an upper magnetic head 21 is held to slide on an upper carriage 41, and a magnetic disk 91 is not loaded, the protruded part 411 of the upper carriage 41 is supported by an upper carriage lifter 51. Further, the extended part 122 of a shutter lever 12 for opening/closing the shutter of a flexible disk is inserted into a space between the upper carriage lifter 51 and a cartridge holder 3. The protruded part 51a of the upper carriage lifter 51 is received by the receiving part 81 of the cartridge holder 7. Further, the lower part 3a of the cartridge holder 3 is received by the receiving part 78 of the cartridge holder 7.
