PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce element characteristic defects and yield decline, etc., due to the mutual interference of reflected light and incident light, regarding an optical integrated device in which a plurality of waveguides are integrated. SOLUTION: For an optical waveguide formed by a window 9 (a) in a stripe shape, two of an optical waveguide 9 (a1) and an optical waveguide 9 (a2) are connected optically. The optical waveguide 9 (a1) is terminated, so as to make a waveguide light direction be orthogonal to an end face 12 near a gain area, and the optical waveguide 9 (a2) is terminated so as to make the waveguide light direction obliquely cross an end face 13 near a DBR region.
