PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic meter reading device and an instrumentation system using the device that permit a pointer type gas usage meter having been arranged to be used as it is and can measure in a shorter time and with higher accuracy. SOLUTION: The automatic meter reading device 30 for a meter 20 for indicating a measured value by means of a dial and a pointer comprises an image pickup device 33 comprising, for example, an artificial retina element for picking up an image of an indication face 21 of the meter 20, and an indication value determining means 38 for determining the angle of the pointer from the pickup image picked up by the image pickup device 33 and determining an indication value on the dial from the angle. |
