PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a gap corrosion occurring between a metal pipe housing an optical fiber unit and aluminum-covered steel wires arranged on the metal pipe in an optical fiber composite overhead line, so that the optical unit is not deteriorated or damaged. SOLUTION: Air gaps 8 for allowing sufficient air to pass though are formed between the metal pipe 1 and the aluminum-covered steel wires arranged on it in order to provide the necessary amount of oxygen.
