PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress generation of a pseudo contour of animation in a display device performing time-sharing gray scale display without scanning for every display time. SOLUTION: The voltage corresponding to the data of the maximum gray scale is kept in a memory circuit 9 and then a voltage to the data of gray scale except for the maximum one is applied on a liquid crystal element 23. Then, the voltage corresponding to the data of the maximum gray scale is applied from the memory circuit 9 on the liquid crystal device 23.
