PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sensor for a theft prevention device preventing the realization of a condition in which an alarm is not outputted even if a member like a thin plate and having strength is inserted into a bonding part of a pressure sensitive adhesive double coated tape. SOLUTION: This sensor 11 for the theft prevention device is provided with a push button switch 28 of automatic return type and is bonded to electric equipment 17 which is an object for preventing theft while the push button switch 28 is pressed to detect its bonding condition and removal condition by an on condition and an off condition of the push button switch 28. This sensor 11 is provided with two plugs 15, 16 to be inserted into jacks 36, 37 for inputting and outputting a signal provided in the electric equipment 17, and two plugs 15, 16 and the push button switch 28 constitute a series circuit together with a common electric potential wire in the electric equipment 17 to detect a condition in which any part in this series circuit is cut.
