PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator in which the temperature of foods can be detected by non-bulky compact article temperature sensors without making narrow the storage compartment using and controlled stably. SOLUTION: In a refrigerator 1 comprising a storage compartment 2 for preserving foods while refrigerating, an article temperature operating means 9 operates the inner temperature of the foods based on the ambient temperature of the foods detected by article temperature sensors 7a and 7b, and the heat transfer properties of the foods stored by a storage means 8, and then the refrigerator 1 is controlled using the temperature of the foods thus operated.
