PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing highly versatile 1-phosphorylated sugar derivatives. SOLUTION: The 1-phosphorylated sugar derivative expressed by general formula (2) or its salt is produced by the phosphorolysis of a 1-halogenated sugar derivative of general formula (1) (W is O or S; Z is O, S or a (substituted) C; and (n) is 0 or 1) while removing water in the phosphoric acid and the reaction solvent by azeotropic dehydration. A concrete example of the production method is the use of a compound of formula (3) as the compound of formula (1) to produce a 1-phosphorylated sugar derivative of formula (4) or its salt as the compound of formula (2).
