PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To greatly reduce a deformation load of a front side frame and reduce vehicle body deceleration so as to achieve an aim during frontal impact of an automobile to reduce a shock load acting on an occupant. SOLUTION: Hook members 55, 55 are provided on inner panels 51, 51 of a pair of front side frames 11, 11 having a hollow cross sectional structure, respectively, and a groovelike thin wall part 57 is formed in the inner panels 51, 51 so as to surround mounting parts of the hook members 55, 55. A wire member 56 for connecting both hook members 55, 55 mutually is stretched in the direction of vehicle width with allowance, a pulley 62 is provided in a rear part of a power plant 4 arranged in the intermediate part of a pair of front side frames 11, 11, and the wire member 56 is wound around the pulley 62.
