PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lid lock device for washing machine capable of dealing with even such a situation that the catching margin between a lock pin and a receiving member is varied for every product, or gradually changed with the lapse of time even in the same product, and always securing the catching margin between the lock pin and the receiving member in the maximum length to ensure the lock and improve the safety. SOLUTION: In a washing machine provided with this lid lock device 7 constituted of the lock pin 9 arranged on a top cover 4 side protrudably to and retreatably from a lid 5, and the receiving member 10 provided on the lid 5 side and having a locking recessed part 10a for inserting the lock pin 9, the upper part of the receiving member 10 is freely rotatably fixed to the lower surface of the lid 5, the inside of the top cover 4 is formed into a tapered surface 4a so that the lower side is protruded to the inside of the lid 5, the protruding and recessing hole 4b for the lock pin 9 is provided on the tapered surface 4a, and the pivotally fixed part 11 of the receiving member 10 is located on the outside which is closer to the top cover 4 side from the just above position of the forming part of the protruding and recessing hole 4b for the lock pin 9.
