PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a desk with a movable top board which achieves a lighter weight with the horizontal dimensions of upper parts of leg bodies made minimal while improving the looking thereof by preventing the guide rail from being exposed noticeably. SOLUTION: A recessed groove 12 facing longitudinally with the top part thereof opened is provided in the top surfaces of support arms 5a and 5b making up leg bodies Fa and Fb. A holder 32 and guide rods 34a and 34b making up a guide rail R are made to engage a slide member 38 slidably in the longitudinal direction thereof within the recessed grooves 12 while the slidable engagement of the holder 32 and the guide rods 34a and 34b within the recessed grooves 12 of both the support arms 5a and 5b eliminates the formation of a noticeable clearance between the top surfaces of both the support arms 5a and 5b and a top board 6 and significant exposure of the guide rail R thereby improving the looking of the desk.
