<p>A waste recycling process comprises the use of spaced apart counter-rotating shafts 55, 56 each carrying hammer-like projecting flails 57 suitable for both shredding and separating various materials as they pass between the shafts 55, 56. In detail the process comprises all the following steps: receiving waste material, separating the waste into large paper, large plastics and residuals, removing and baling the paper, removing and baling the plastics, delivering the residuals to a shredding and separating station (6, fig. 10). The station (6,fig. 10) comprises the spaced apart counter-rotating shafts 55,56 each carrying hammer-like projecting flails 57 such that the flails 57 rotate within gaps between two flails 57 on the opposing shaft 55, 56 screening the shredded residuals to remove larger material, sending said larger materials for fuel use, and sending the remaining material for composting.</p> |
