Use of sunscreen combinations comprising, as essential constituent, 2,2'-p-phenylenebis (3,1-benzoxazin-4-one) as photostable UV filters in cosmetic and pharmaceutical preparations

Sunscreen combinations which compriseA) effective amounts of a compound of formula I andB) effective amounts of one or more compounds selected from a group consisting of: zinc oxide, titanium oxide and the compounds of formulae II to XVI which are specified in the description,are suitable as photostable UV filters in cosmetic and pharmaceutical compositions for protecting human skin or human hair against solar rays. The combinations are optionally used together with other conventional UV absorbing ingredients which are known per se for cosmetic and pharmaceutical compositions.
