PURPOSE: A process of preparing a crude drug composition for enhancing memory containing a Rehmanniae radix Preparata extract as an effective ingredient is provided. Whereby, the composition is effective in enhancement of the ability of children to learn tasks, or to memorize. CONSTITUTION: Rehmanniae radix Preparata is extracted in an organic solvent in a ratio of 1:2(w/v) and filtered to give a supernatant, which is extracted in an organic solvent having a variety of concentrations, filtered, concentrated under reduced pressure and freeze-dried, wherein the organic solvent is selected from the group consisting of ethyl alcohol, petroleum ether, chloroform, methyl alcohol and water.
