摘要 PURPOSE: To stably perform the high density recording in a pyroelectric recording apparatus using a pyroelectric member as an image carrier. CONSTITUTION: The pyroelectric recording apparatus has an image carrier 1 wherein a pyroelectric member 12 is formed on a substrate 10 having a conductive layer 11 and a recording head 2 locally heating the pyroelectric member 12 by the irradiation with the laser beam from a lamer beam irradiation means selectively driven corresponding to an image signal to form a local charge area on the surface of the pyroelectric member 12 and a photothermal conversion part absorbing at least a part of the laser beam emitted from the laser beam irradiation means to generate heat is formed on the image carrier 12. By this constitution, the pyroelectric member 12 is locally heated by the heat generated in the photothermal conversion part by the irradiation with laser beam to form the local charge area on the surface of the pyroelectric member to apply recording to the image carrier 1.
