PURPOSE: A device for purifying sewage and wastewater is provided to prevent deterioration of water pollution, generation of odor and excessive use of chemicals by penetrating sewage and wastewater into two-step aggregate layers, hard charcoal layers and veinstone layer. CONSTITUTION: In a device for purifying sewage and wastewater which is installed to purge sewage and wastewater discharged from home and business sites before discharging the sewage and wastewater into a drainpipe, the device for purifying sewage and wastewater is characterized in that the device is installed in such a way that the purged sewage and wastewater is discharged into a drainpipe after catching sewage and wastewater into a purgation body(40) in the sealed state through a sewage and wastewater inlet pipe(1), and removing foreign materials at a precipitation tank(2) and first and second filter meshes(3,4) and purifying the foreign material removed sewage and wastewater through first to fifth purgation chambers(30,31,32,33,34) divided by first to fourth partition walls(11,21,12,22), wherein sewage and wastewater are purged in a first aggregate layer, a second aggregate layer, a first hard charcoal layer, a second hard charcoal and a veinstone layer that are respectively formed in the first to fifth purgation chambers(30,31,32,33,34) as moving sewage and wastewater through overflow ports(11-1,11-2) of the first and third partition walls(11,12) and discharge ports(21-1,22-1) of the second and fourth partition walls(21,22).
