PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a reproducing operation corresponding to a recording medium in which group management information is recorded. SOLUTION: A recording medium for recording contents signals and additional information for managing the contents signals for each track is used, and when group management information for grouping the recorded contents signals by track units is included in the additional information of the recording medium, and a group is designated in an ST31, whether or not the tracks of the contents signals are registered in the designated group is determined in an ST32. When the generation of the tracks is not present, any group registered with the tracks of the contents signals before or after the designated group is newly set as the designated group in an ST33. The contents signals in the group are reproduced in an ST34. Even when any track is not registered in the designated group, the contents signals of another group registered with the tracks of the contents signals is reproduced by the group units so that the reproducing operation corresponding to the recording medium in which the group management information is recorded can be executed.
