SUBSTANCE: invention is aimed at increasing wear resistance of shafts coated with chromium-nickel austenitic steel, for instance, when restoring condition of parts of road vehicles and agricultural machines. Surfacing is effected with delivery of liquefied nitrogen to cooling zone at temperatures within 500 and 800C. nitrogen jet is delivered through card brush rotating at 500 -1500 min-1 in one direction with part. Angle between axes of rotation of part and card brush is changes from 45 <128 > to ( -45 <128 > ) at speed 2 to 4 times greater than speed of part rotation.
