PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a facsimile control method for informing a person or a machine that should receive a facsimile when there is a facsimile communication having a sub address, and to provide a facsimile apparatus. SOLUTION: The facsimile apparatus 200 connected to computers 400 to 600 by network 100 should have a table and a control section. The table maintains a sub address that is added to facsimile reception data, and the address of a user corresponding to the sub address. The control section refers to the table, and informs the computer of the user corresponding to the sub address of facsimile reception by referring to the table when the facsimile communication having the sub address is received by the facsimile apparatus.
