PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a color transformation device by which color reproduction under color matching conditions suitable to various image objects constituting an inputted image is realized with comparatively a small amount of hardware at high speed. SOLUTION: In the color transformation device 210 to transform inputted image data expressed by an m-dimensional color space into a control signal of an optional color image output device 301, a control signal value of an output device corresponding to a lattice point of an (m+n) dimensional coordinate including the color matching conditions as coordinate axes is stored as a lookup table and color transformation of the control signal is performed by an interpolating operation of an m+n dimensional lookup table by using inputted color data and the color matching conditions as input. For example, a means 215 to determine color compression rate to a color reproduction range owned by the output device 301 is provided.
