Metallization of polystyrene articles -treated with suspension - of a metal in solvent for polystyrene prior to electroplating

The adherence of the coating to the substrate is improved by first rendering the polystyrene surface electroconductive by means of metallic particles firmly anchored to the surface by the softening action of the solvent. The method is esp. suitable in the prodn. of costume jewellery from metallised polystyrene.
