The method involves performing electrically regulated control of hydraulic valves (10,16-19,26,27) depending on the friction and/or change in friction between the vehicle wheel and road. Wheel brake pressure information and wheel speed information is detected for at least one wheel and evaluated and used to evaluate the friction between the vehicle wheel and the road.
