The device has two opposing longitudinal struts (1) connected together by at least two connecting elements (2). The struts are designed to be rigid and resistant to bending loads and rotary stresses and the connecting elements are elastic in the longitudinal direction so their lengths are variable when subjected to axial compressive and/or strain loads. Independent claims are also included for the following: a screen with a metal mask attached to an inventive frame.
