PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical communication system that can effectively utilize an existing optical fiber net. SOLUTION: A control block 211 transmits an electric signal regarding an Ethernet frame for converting to a light signal by a second Ethernet light transformer 42. The light signal is supplied to a first Ethernet light transformer 41 via a second optical coupler 52, optical fiber 35 with one core, and a first optical coupler 51. The light signal supplied to the first Ethernet light transformer 41 is converted to the electric signal regarding the Ethernet frame for transmitting to a first terminator hub 31. The terminator hub 31 transmits the Ethernet frame to a first server 11. Downlink transmission from the first server 11 to each terminal 21 is also achieved by the transmission of the Ethernet frame of the first server 11 and terminator hub 31, and the directional coupling of the optical coupler. |
