PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily sort electronic mail in a document managing system. SOLUTION: A G3 facsimile or the like is received and image data are read by a scanner, converted into the attached file of electronic mail and transmitted. At transmission, a character string showing whether they are received facsimile data or read scanner data, or call originating source of facsimile data is added to the subject in the header of electronic mail or to the text thereof.
