The travel protection device for a golf bag comprises a rigid tube (2) with low deformability, one end of which has an outer diameter smaller than or equal to the inner diameter of the upper edge of the cover surfaces (4) of the bag. The other end of the tube is closed by a cover (1). The length the tube is greater than the difference between the length of the clubs to be transported in the golf bag and the length of the golf bag. The tube and the cover are releasably connected to one another. The tube at its lower, open end has at least one tab (3). The tube and/or the cover on their inside are completely or partly lined with a soft material.
