PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device in which recording paper can be detected by using a thermal fixing device, and to provide a method for detecting the recording paper. SOLUTION: Electric power supplied to a thermal fixing device is detected by using a thermal fixing device 2-1 or 2-3 having a small heat capacity, and the arrival and/or exit of the recording paper at and/or from the thermal fixing device is detected on the basis of the change of the detected electric power. |
