PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve durability against seizure without degrading biting performance by improving an oil groove shape of a lining. SOLUTION: A brake band 10 has a strap 12 for tightening an outer face of a cylindrical clutch drum, the lining 13 capable of pressure contact with the outer face of the cylindrical clutch drum, and a pair of brackets 14a and 14b fixed at both ends of the strap 12. The lining 13 has first oil grooves 13a of an elongate hole shape extending in the direction perpendicular to the axis of the cylindrical clutch drum, second oil grooves 13b of an elongate hole shape extending in the direction inclined against the axis of the cylindrical clutch drum, and an oil hole 13c corresponding to an oil hole 12c in the strap 12.
