PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method for a photostimulable phosphor requiring no vacuum exhauster and capable of reducing equipment cost. SOLUTION: This method for producing a photostimulable phosphor at least comprises a mixing step wherein photostimulable phosphor materials are mixed to prepare a photostimulable phosphor materials mixture, a baking step wherein a gas Ga' present in a baking space is substituted by a substituting gas Ga and the photostimulable phosphor materials mixture is baked in the gas Ga atmosphere to prepare a baked product, and a cooling step for cooling the baked product. In the baking step, a flow treatment for causing the gas Ga to flow into the baking space to substitute the gas Ga' present in the baking space with the gas Ga is conducted.
