PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressure altimeter immune to the environmental pressure. SOLUTION: The altimeter comprises a first pressure-altitude converting means for calculating the altitude from an air pressure measured by an air pressure sensor, an Hn conversion fixing means for holding the altitude Hn constant with a first electronic switch set off in the event that the pressure altimeter body stops, a threshold comparing means for judging whether the altimeter body moves or stops, a pn fixing means for fixing the air pressure pn in the beginning of moving with the first electronic switch set on due to beginning of moving and holding this value until the first electronic switch turns off, a second pressure-altitude converting means for calculating the altitude from the fixed air pressure pn in the beginning of moving, aΔh calculating means for calculating a moved altitude from the air pressure changed during moving of the altimeter body according toΔh=h(p)-h(pn ), adding means for adding the altitude Hn and the moved altitudeΔh, and an altitude indicating means for indicating the addition result.
