PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thermoplastic resin composition for laser marking that is excellent in the well-balanced physical properties of laser marking properties, impact resistance and rigidity, and provide a process for effectively producing the thermoplastic resin composition for laser marking. SOLUTION: The thermoplastic resin composition for laser marking is produced by blending, into (I) 100 pts.wt. rubber-reinforced styrene resin, (II) 0.0001-0.5 pts.wt. carbon black and/or (III) 0.001-5 pts.wt. iron oxide, wherein an acetone-soluble resin component contained in the resin composition has a monomer composition comprising (a1) 5-70 wt.% aromatic vinyl monomer, (a2) 30-95 wt.% unsaturated carboxylic acid alkyl ester monomer, (a3) 0-50 wt.% vinyl cyanide monomer and (a4) 0-50 wt.% other monomers copolymerizable therewith and the acetone-soluble resin component has an acid value of 0.01-1 mgKOH/g. |
