<p>The fibres are threaded from a solution of synthetic polymer (polyacrylonitrile) in a solvent, pref. dimethyl acetamide, through a first bath contg. 35-95 wt.% of a coagulant, pref. ZnCl2 and a solvent, pref. water, and/or a salt at -20 to 25 degrees C for 1-40 sec. and then the partly coagulated fibres are passed through a second bath contng. >65 wt.% of a coagulant, pref. ZnCl2, and a solvent and/or a salt at 30-120 degrees C for 1-75 sec. The fibres are used in textiles and have a tough skin and a soft crushable core obtained by this process from a normal spinneret with circular holes.</p> |
