Granules, cords or fibres are made from plastics melt by liquid or gaseous coolants/ entrainants whose speed can be controlled. The coolant stream is parallel to the melt flow, from the melter, produced by the aspiration medium which also acts as a coolant. The melt solidifies and is discharged with the medium. After an autoclave or extruder is a casting device which ensures the distribution; after it is an extractor with injectors around its axis, each opening into a flexible tube or a pipe, which leads to a cutter. |
