PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric reel making a torque control of a motor, designed to make the tension on a fishline hard to be varied when the fishline is reeled up. SOLUTION: This electric reel includes a reel body 1 mounted on a fishing rod, a spool 10, a motor 12, a change switch SK, a torque sensor 43, a torque data memory area 53, and reel control section 30; wherein the torque sensor 43 functions to detect a reeling-up torque applying onto the motor, reeling-up torques are set in a plurality of steps in the torque data memory area, and the reel control section 30 functions to detect reeled fishline diameter based on the data for displaying water depth, correct the set value of the reeling-up torque based on the resultant reeled fishline diameter and control the torque of the motor of each step so that the reeled-up torque thus detected does not exceed the reeled-up torque of each step.
