PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for suitably controlling a rotating speed of a blower, in the case of operating a dust collector in which air containing dust under condition of high concentration and large variation of dusting is in the range of dust collecting target, such as a desiliconizing treating position for molten iron, in the dust generating position on casting bed of a blast furnace. SOLUTION: The number of rotations of the blower 15 in the dust collector is controlled based on information concerning a charging speed of desiliconizing agent during the desiliconizing treatment in the molten iron. In such a case, the desiliconizing agent discharging speed data from a desiliconizing agent discharging valve in a desiliconizing agent charging hopper 9, are transmitted to a control unit 13 for number of rotations of the blower in the dust collector, and this control unit 13 controls the number of rotations of the blower 15 according with a control program for number of rotations, prepared based on the relation between the preset desiliconizing agent charging speed and the number of rotations of the blower 15 for restraining the dust concentration in exhaust gas from the dust collector to not more than an allowable value.
