PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position holder of an edge guide composed of the smallest number of part items, easy in assembling, easily movable when setting paper different in a paper width, and continuously holdable in the position after being positioned once. SOLUTION: This position holder has a guide body 3 having a recording paper support surface 5 and a first side edge guide surface 9, and a movable edge guide 27 having a second side edge guide surface 31, and movable in the width direction of the guide body. The recording paper support surface forms a uniform width guide groove 11 extending in the width direction of the guide body. An elastically deforming part 15 is formed along the guide groove. A deformation allowable part 17 for allowing deformation of the elastically deforming part is formed along the elastically deforming part on the opposite side by separating the elastically deforming part from the guide groove. A guide projection part 39 extending in the guide groove, and having a width little larger than a width of the guide groove is formed from an under surface of the movable edge guide.
