PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer sheet capable of accurately and stably forming a part not partly transferred to a material to be transferred when a transfer part is re-transferred to the material without increasing in a manufacturing cost to obtain a final printed matter in the sheet used when a thermal transfer image is formed on the transfer part by using an intermediate transfer recording medium having the releasable transfer part made of at least an acceptive layer and provided on a base film and the transfer part is re-transferred to the material. SOLUTION: The thermal transfer sheet comprises the transfer part having the thermal transfer image formed thereon by using the intermediate transfer recording medium having the transfer part. The sheet is used when the transfer part is used to the material to be transferred. The transfer sheet further comprises a masking layer provided to form a part not partly transferred at the material to be transferred, and a dye layer and/or a melting layer sequentially provided in surfaces on each one surface to form the thermal transfer image on one surface and another surface of the material to be transferred. In this case, the masking layer is provided at least a unit for one side surface.
