PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera which realizes thickness reduction and miniaturization while blocking unnecessary rays and forming a good image of a subject in a camera which has a deflecting optical system including a reflecting means. SOLUTION: The camera is provided with a first lens group 14a on which luminous flux is made incident, a reflecting means 33 which reflects light passing the first lens group 14a in a right-angle direction to the optical axis, a first diaphragm means 41 disposed in the vicinity of the lens of the first lens group closest to the reflecting means, a second lens group 14b on which light reflected by the reflecting means is made incident, at least one of a second diaphragm means 42 which is disposed between the first and second lens groups so as to interrupt unnecessary rays which pass outside the position at which the rays of the outermost peripheries of both the luminous flux which is directed from the 1st lens group to the reflecting means and the luminous flux which is directed from the reflective means to the 2nd lens group come to cross and an unnecessary ray reflection preventing means (33b) to prevent reflection by the regions other than the incidence region of the luminous flux made incident on the reflecting means, and a third diaphragm means 43 disposed in the vicinity of the lens of the 2nd lens group closest to the reflecting means.
