<p>The present invention belongs to the field of mechanical engineering, particularly to automotive engineering, and relates to devices and methods for defrosting locks on vehicles and other locks and padlocks on objects exposed to various atmospheric conditions and freezing temperatures. The essence of the invention is to transfer heat to a vehicle lock mechanism (1), either from electric heater (2) powered from storage battery (6), or from modified key (10) with special heating body (11) to which heat is transferred from outside sources of heat. The built in electric heater is turned on either automatically (by a thermostat (3)), or by a remote control of a vehicle alarm system (8), or directly by a push button switch (8.1). Regulator (9) of heater current contributes to optimal consumption of electric energy from storage battery (6). For defrosting of a lock by means of a modified key, heat is transferred to heating body (11) from, for example, cigarette lighter or similar source of heat. The device can be utilized for defrosting locks on other objects not only on motor vehicles.</p> |
