PURPOSE: To provide a microwave oven in which the timing for ending heating can be determined appropriately even when foods are placed at a plurality of places in the heating chamber. CONSTITUTION: When a decision is made, at S1011, that a temperature of 75°C is reached at any position on the bottom face of a heating chamber, the process advances to S1012. At S1012, a decision is made whether a temperature of 70°C or above is detected or not at some position other than that detected at S1011, and the process advances to S1013 if it is detected, otherwise the process advances to S1014. When a decision is made, at S1013, that the temperature detected at the detecting position of S1012 has reached 75°C, the process advances to S1014 where heating operation through a magnetron 12 is ended.
