PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic guidance and control system capable of shifting a driving mode from automatic driving to manual driving without stopping an automatic drive vehicle at a changeover part between an automatic driving service providing section and a manual driving section. SOLUTION: This automatic guidance and control system is provided with steering quantity adjusting mechanisms 1a, 3, speed regulating mechanisms 2a, 4, lateral position detecting means 10, 31 for detecting the lateral position of the vehicle, and a human interface device 5 for confirming the propriety of a shift to manual driving. The automatic guidance and control system is further provided with a road side control device 6 for instructing and determining the confirmation of the propriety of the shift to manual driving and instructing to the effect of guiding the vehicle to a main travel lane 53 or an emergency side-lane 54, and an on-vehicle control device 7 for confirming the propriety of the shift to the manual driving of the vehicle and controlling the steering quantity adjusting mechanisms 1a, 3 and speed regulating mechanisms 2a, 4 according to the instructions to the effect of guiding the vehicle. |
